Verstappen wins in Canada ahead of Sainz and Hamilton. Red Bull Racing’s Max Verstappen took his sixth victory of the season at the Canadian Grand Prix, resisting strong pressure from Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz following a late Safety Car to extend his championship lead over team-mate Sergio Pérez to 46 points. With Sainz second, Lewis Hamilton took his first podium finish since the opening round of the season, with the Mercedes driver finished ahead of team-mate George Russell and Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc who battle through to fifth place from 19th place on the grid.
FIA takes steps to reduce porpoising for safety. Following the eighth round of this year’s FIA Formula One World Championship, during which the phenomenon of aerodynamic oscillations (“porpoising”) of the new generation of Formula 1 cars, and the effect of this during and after the race on the physical condition of the drivers was once again visible, the FIA, as the governing body of the sport, has decided that, in the interests of the safety, it is necessary to intervene to require that the teams make the necessary adjustments to reduce or to eliminate this phenomenon.
Pérez win in Mónaco ahead Sainz and Verstappen. Sergio Pérez won a Monaco Grand Prix held in difficult wet-dry conditions beating Carlos Sainz, as Max Verstappen finished in third-place finish to extends his title lead over Charles Leclerc who took the flag in fourth place after Ferrari lost a strategic battle with Red Bull.
Verstappen wins in Spain to take title lead. Max Verstappen claimed a hard-fought Spanish Grand Prix win at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, coming back from an early spin and faulty DRS to take a victory that hands him control of the 2022 FIA Formula One Drivers’ World Championship standings as Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc exited the race from a comfortable lead due to the power unit issue. Sergio Pérez took second place to Red Bull Racing’s second 1-2 finish of the season and the final podium place went to Mercedes’ George Russell.
Verstappen won inaugural Miami GP. Max Verstappen passed the Ferraris of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz to win the inaugural Miami Grand Prix despite a late Safety Car that saw championship leader Leclerc put the defending champion under intense pressure in the closing stages of a thrilling race at the new Miami International Autodrome.
Verstappen wins in Emilia Romagna GP. Max Verstappen took a dominant Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix victory ahead of team-mate Sergio Pérez to claim a one-two finish for Red Bull Racing, as championship leader Charles Leclerc finished in sixth place following a late-race spin and Ferrari team-mate Carlos Sainz the race in a first-lap collision. Lando Norris took the final podium position for McLaren.
Leclerc takes a emphatic Australian GP win. Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc took an emphatic 2022 FIA Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix win, finishing over 20 seconds clear of Red Bull Racing’s Sergio Pérez and the third-placed Mercedes of George Russell as defending World Champion Max Verstappen exited the race soon after the half way point with a mechanical problem.
Canada still running for Qatar World Cup. Canada Soccer’s Men’s National Team faced its first defeat of the CONCACAF Final Round of FIFA World Cup Qualifying, losing 1:0 to Costa Rica. Canada remains at the top of the table with two matches remaining, needing just one point to secure its spot in the World Cup.

Canada defeats El Salvador. Canada Soccer’s Men’s National Team defeated El Salvador 2:0 at Estadio Cuscatlán, in San Salvador, SLV to close the January FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Qualifiers window with a perfect 9 points. It was Canada’s first victory in El Salvador since 1986. Canada became the first team to win six straight games in the Concacaf Final Round of World Cup Qualifiers since the new format was adopted in 1997.
Canada defeats US Team 2:0. Canada Soccer’s Men’s National Team defeated USA 2:0 at Tim Hortons Field in Hamilton, ON. With the victory, Canada remains undefeated in FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Qualifiers and sits atop the table on 22 points, four points ahead of USA with four games remaining.

Successful start into a new era. The most complex race car in Audi’s history to date passed its baptism of fire at the Dakar Rally with flying colors. All three Audi RS Q e-tron cars mastered the world’s toughest off-road rally on their debut in Saudi Arabia. In total, they covered around 24,000 desert kilometers – almost three times the 8,700 test kilometers that Audi had previously completed. Mattias Ekström/Emil Bergkvist finished ninth in Jeddah as the best Audi driver team in a demanding edition of the desert classic. Porsche Taycan revealed as new Formula E safety car.
